COVID SUPPORT TO INDIA
Many of us in the local community are shocked and horrified at the covid catastrophe playing out in India at the moment. Our church has, for some years, established strong links with a hospital in Vellore, South India - the Christian Medical College (CMC). CMC is considered one of India's finest medical college hospitals. We have been in touch with the charity here in the UK that supports them - Friends of Vellore UK - to see what we can do to help. This charity is striving to send much needed donations to Vellore. The major need across India and in these smaller hospitals is oxygen supply. Oxygen generators or oxygen concentrators will really help, but cost significant sums. If you can help financially in any way, please visit the Friends of Vellore website via the link below. Thank you.
Our Food bank for Birmingham City Mission
Your contributions to the food bank are still very much needed and, when the church is closed, you can leave your donations towards this in the church porch.
Thank you for all the food bank donations received so far.
At St Mary Magdalene, we aim to be a welcoming, accessible and inclusive church, putting God, the Divine, at the centre of all we do.
The blessing of our church building and grounds is that spaces for quiet contemplation, meditation, and prayer can always be found in the centre of our village.
We seek to be generous with our welcome, our time, and our creativity, supporting one another and the wider local community in the many different ways that, between us, we have to offer.
We are fellow travellers with Christ on a never-ending journey and welcome any to come and travel alongside us for however long they wish. We don’t have all the answers, and we don’t expect others to either.
Come explore with us, question with us, sing with us, laugh and cry with us, drink tea and eat cake with us.
