Holy Grounds Coffee Shop and Lunchtime Recitals

From November Holy Grounds coffee shop will move to the third Thursday of the month and to a start time of 10:30.


Lunchtime Recitals will continue on the second Thursday of the month, starting at 12 noon and will conclude with an opportunity to 'meet the musicians' afterwards over a cuppa. See Recitals leaflet at the back of Church for details or contact Anne Ellis on 0121 458 2331.

3D

Shirley deanery are running a 3D course from 20 September, hosted at St Mary's, Lapworth.


This is the major programme offered by the diocese for the development of discipleship for those who are already established in their Christian faith. To register or to discuss the course, please contact Patrick Gerard on 782098. Registration closes on 7 September. An initial schedule is available at the back of church. Information about 3D is available on the Birmingham Diocese website - click here.

Wedding Order of Service

Couples planning their weddings at St Mary Magdalene can now download a template order of service which they can fill in and edit as appropriate. The template is in old-school Word .doc format in the interests of compatibility!

The Abduction from the Seraglio

On 5 July the Church hosted a performance of The Abduction from the Seraglio. The evening made over £30,000 for the MASIC Foundation and the Friends of St Mary Magdalene.

Contacting our Children and Families Coordinator

Our Church has a Children and Young Families Coordinator, Rachel Rollason. Her role is to help our church develop its ministry and outreach to children, young people and their parents.


Rachel usually works on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays mainly between the school and the upper room of the church from 8am to 3.15pm. Privacy Policy

As you may well be aware data protection rules are changing this week and the PCC have therefore approved a new privacy policy setting out what data the Church holds and how it will process that data in the future. You can download and read the full privacy policy here:

Could you be a chorister?

St Mary Magdalene Junior Choir is an exciting opportunity  for boys and girls aged 7-16 who enjoy music. Weekly practices are on Friday early evenings during term time and the choir sings on some Sunday and on special occasions. Membership is free!
